As it was mentioned above, this is Peyronie's disease and it's usually caused by trauma.
I had it but somehow improved with age. I remember when I was 15 / 16 yrs old I used to masturbate a lot, even twice a day and one day I remember having pain after masturbation.
From that day I noticed that the penis started pointing to the left, and years later, when I started having sex, it was a bit annoying because I had to move my body at a certain angle to reach the vagina.
It also hurt my partner's inside as it put pressure on one side.
When erected, I could easily see and feel a hard structure inside the penis, on the left, while the right was softer and fleshy.
Today, the hard structure is still there, but as I said, somehow the penis is more straight...it does not cause any problem.
I have read that for severe cases when penetration is very hard or impossible, the only way to fix it is to have surgery and have the hard material removed.
