A former PE teacher, Brownwen James, has been found guilty of sexual offences involving a 16 year old schoolboy. She had also previously admitted sexually abusing two school girls who were aged 13 and 14.
The schoolboy was a pupil at the school she was teaching at which she approached and the relationship soon became sexual. Although the boy initially viewed the experience positively, he later told the court that he had come to recognise that he had been groomed. The inappropriate relationship was revealed after another student showed a teach some of the text messages sent between the two.
The boy said that the teacher would slip him vapes during class and also than when they were alone together she liked him to call her "Miss".
After she was convicted of that crime reporting restrictions were lifted and it was revealed she had previously sexually abused two girls aged 13 and 14. The offending occurred while James was working at different schools, with private messaging and trips in her car forming part of the pattern of behaviour.
She will be sentenced for all 12 offences at a later date.
