A man who tricked three prostitutes by faking online banking records showing he’d paid them thousands of dollars for sex has dodged a rape charge but faces up to 10 years in prison when he’s sentenced today.
In one case he even forged a lab test document showing a clear blood test result to convince a woman to have unprotected sex.

Wow! That's a brazen move. You should always pay your hooker. Hell hath no fury like a hooker unpaid.

Did the hooker break NZ law by agreeing to unprotected sex regardless of any medical certification?
 
Isn't seeking a dating site rather than sex worker site? Those ladies were not sex workers.
 
Yeah its a sugaring site so I guess they are not technically escorts but some people might call them sex workers. The NZ prostitutes collective probably would.

I guess that's a reminder to the girls to either take cash only or at least wait until the money clears.

You would have thought he would just cough up the money in the end to try and avoid prosecution. Paying the girls would have been cheaper then his lawyer's fees. 🤣
 
Shitty move not to pay, but interesting that the judge decided it definitely wasn't "rape". That should upset the more vociferous of the whorearchy for a while.

Agreed 100% about paying for a service, ripping people off is a shit thing to do, unfortunately the flip side of the coin the cop's would never be interested in a client that's been ripped off financially either partially or fully, its nothing more than a civil matter and your problem not theirs. Aside from punting I've been defaulted 10's of thousands in my business and you have very little recourse they get liquidated and you get no payout, nobody gets arrested, nobody gets a reparation order, there's nothing you can do but suck it up and put it behind you.
 
I'm glad the guy didn't get charged with rape because that would be an injustice for sure!
What this guy did here was fraud or theft, not rape!
And let's say people would argue that he lied to get consent, well then that's a person guilty of deceit!
It's still not rape!
